Eligibility & Curriculum

The UAMS College of Nursing offers a baccalaureate program in professional nursing and is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Admission to the nursing program requires successful completion of a minimum of 64 hours of required general education courses. Licensed RNs who hold a bachelor's degree in an non-nursing field only have to meet the post-baccalaureate list of prerequisites. All prerequisites may be taken at any accredited college or university.

The BSN Completion and Articulated BSN/MNSc program is offered part-time and full-time. Scheduling of classes is a two calendar year period for part-time study and nine months for full-time study. Upon completion of the BSN, application may be made to the MNSc program for students from Pathway 1 or Pathway 2. See additional admission requirements to the MNSc program, and click here for a list of the required courses to obtain a master's of science in nursing by specialty.
